Anoectochilus chapaensis

-(Burmannicus) Jewel Orchid

This is a burgundy to deep green leafed, yellowish white veined plant. The velvety leaves are up to 4 inches max (10 cm) with a subtle heart shape. They are slow growing and don't creep much. Small yellow flowers show up in winter and spring; in mature plants you will often see brown toned to green leaves, silver or white veins in most, sometimes red and pink veins. This is a great plant for medium to large enclosures and with less delicate foliage than other jewels this is a favorite for use with small animal vivariums as the foliage can support more weight without damage.

Top pick for glass terrariums and vivariums.
