Macodes sanderiana is second only to petola esthetically, with beautiful velvety foliage and electric veining.

The leaves are mostly shades of deep green and red with hints of yellow coming from the center on young leaves. The spectacular metallic veining present on the foliage is typically white in the center, fading into tones of foil gold as it reaches the edges of the leaf.
